Small-business service charges by usage, not number of phones connected.

VoIP can be ideal for small businesses. IP PBXes in a service provider's datacenter let small companies access big-company features like auto attendant, dial by name, extension dialing and the like, all without needing to buy any equipment but IP phones. The calls travel over the Internet from the datacenter to those phones, which the companies plug into their LANs. All the services typically cost is $40 to $50 per extension per month.
